Rosewood Characteristic

A rosewood tree takes a 100 to 200 years to grow, each ring on the rosewood log represents one year of its life. The older the tree the closer the grains. Rosewood is a hardwood and the Indian rosewood belongs to the Dalbergia botanical family. It has a lot of colour variations ranging from purple, blue, brown to red. It is a very beautiful wood and a lot of the Indian rosewood is used in the guitar industry worldwide due to its appearance and acoustical properties. It is this special wood that produces the musical tone on a guitar and without which guitars would never have sounded the same.
